The new generation pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, PCV20, covers a broader range of serotypes. In most cases, adults aged 18 and above require only a single dose to complete the vaccination course. For adults aged 65 and above, as well as individuals with chronic conditions, vaccination helps prevent pneumonia and invasive pneumococcal disease, thereby reducing the risk of severe illness and hospitalisation.
